The US Department of Defense has informed Congress that it needs an additional $80 billion for military operations against Iran and other expenses.
According to The Wall Street Journal, Deputy Defense Secretary Stephen Feinberg held phone talks with lawmakers this week to explain the Pentagon's needs.
The Pentagon warned that without the additional funds, its budget could run out by summer, forcing cuts to training and other programs.
Earlier, Senator Jack Reed said the administration might request $100-200 billion for operations in Iran by 2026.
