In the city of Rwampara, eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), locals set fire to a treatment center for Ebola patients.
According to the Associated Press, the mobile hospital was torched by relatives angered by the refusal to return the body of a person who died from the disease.
Ituri province has become the epicenter of the new Ebola strain. Burial protocols, implemented due to the risk of infection from corpses, conflict with local customs.
DRC authorities report at least 160 deaths since the outbreak began. There are 671 suspected cases across two provinces. The UN reports one death and one infection in neighboring Uganda.
