Mount Etna, Europe's tallest active volcano, has erupted in Sicily.
According to The Guardian, the eruption started a few days ago. Videos of the eruption are widely shared on social media.
A new crater opened at about 3,000 meters height, making the eruption spectacular. Lava has been flowing down the mountain since last week.
Scientists are monitoring the volcano's activity. Local authorities say there is no immediate danger to nearby settlements, but the situation could change.
