Iran demands the immediate release of half of its frozen overseas assets after a deal with the United States.

According to Oxu.Az, Iran's Foreign Ministry official Kazem Gharibabadi told Mehr news agency that Tehran insists on lifting sanctions on its assets.

"Iran's minimum demand is that 50% of these funds be transferred to Iran immediately after signing a memorandum of understanding," he said.

The official also noted that work on the final version of the agreement between Iran and the US is ongoing.

He added that the text of the contract will only be approved when official Tehran is satisfied with the outcome.
