American entrepreneur usk" class="internal-tag-link">Elon Musk has alleged that the United States played a central role in the emergence of the COVID-19 virus.

According to Oxu.Az, Musk made the claim while commenting on a post on the social network "X" regarding the funding of the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

"USAID funding played a central role in the creation of COVID-19," Musk wrote.

Earlier, a user had claimed that USAID, which ceased operations in July 2025, allocated $53 million to China's Wuhan Institute of Virology.

It is worth noting that on June 12, US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard stated that the US government supported biolaboratories working with dangerous pathogens in Ukraine and dozens of other countries. According to her, this involves over 120 biolaboratories operating in more than 30 countries.

The Office of the Director of National Intelligence also emphasized that the Joe Biden administration misled the public about the existence of American biolaboratories abroad, which could lead to catastrophic consequences.
