Israel's "Esh-Tech" company has introduced a new laser system called "DroneLight" for air defense.
The system operates on a pulsed principle. The laser beam does not need to stay on a single target for long, allowing rapid engagement of multiple objects.
"DroneLight" emits short, focused pulses. Neutralizing a drone takes only 1-2 seconds. The system can take out more than 30 aerial targets in 60 seconds.
Another advantage is the ability to send additional pulses to ensure complete destruction. The system switches between targets almost instantly.
The effective range is about 1 kilometer. It integrates with radar, acoustic, and optical sensors. Power consumption is no more than 4 kilowatts.
