Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Istanbul. The talks covered bilateral relations, regional and global issues.
Erdogan stated that the stability achieved through the "Islamabad Agreement" is of global importance. He noted that recent media reports show the complexity of the negotiation process.
The President emphasized Turkey's support for dialogue and diplomacy in the region, and continued cooperation with Pakistan for peace and stability.
The goal of increasing bilateral trade to $5 billion was confirmed. Work continues on establishing special economic zones, expanding preferential trade agreements, and improving the investment climate.
Cooperation in defense, energy, transport, critical minerals, and IT will be deepened. Turkish investors are encouraged to be more active in Pakistan.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif described relations as "two nations, one soul." He recalled Turkey's support during difficult times.
Sharif praised Erdogan's leadership and highlighted Turkey's economic and strategic development. He affirmed Pakistan's support for Turkey's positions on the TRNC and Kashmir issues.
