Starting June 12, the European Union is implementing a new migration and asylum pact.
According to "Kommersant", obtaining asylum will become more difficult, and deportations will be faster for failed applicants.
Those without humanitarian protection will no longer receive benefits for years. Some applications will be screened before entering the EU.
EU Commissioner Magnus Brunner stated: "With the new rules, we will have tighter control over who enters, stays, and leaves. We are restoring order in Europe."
The historic document adopted in 2024 changes the migration system. Brussels is discussing the creation of "return hubs" in third countries.
Between 2015 and 2025, over 8.6 million people applied for asylum. Far-right groups are calling for tougher measures against migrants.
