US President Donald Trump has responded to the country's highest inflation in three years, emphasizing that he likes the situation.
According to Oxu.Az, Forbes magazine reported this. Journalists asked the White House leader if he was concerned about rising consumer prices.
"No, I'm fine with it. I love inflation," he said in response.
Trump added that prices will fall as soon as the war with Iran ends. The US president claimed he had previously warned that the conflict with the Islamic Republic would affect the American economy.
In May, the US national debt increased by about $450 billion to $39.2 trillion. This significant rise occurred amid escalating conflict in the Middle East. Major expenditure items included increased defense spending and debt payments. For Americans, this poses a risk of higher mortgage and business loan interest rates.
If US debt continues to grow, the global economy could face rising inflation and slower GDP growth.
