Non-food consumer goods cannot be imported without a conformity document. A proposed amendment to the Customs Code introduces this rule.
According to the bill, goods not meeting technical regulations or not assessed for conformity are prohibited from production, sale, import, or use.
A mechanism for pre-import conformity assessment will be established under the State Program for 2023-2025.
Imported goods must be accompanied by a conformity certificate, declaration, or recognized foreign documents.
The measure protects competition, supports local production, and prevents unsafe goods. A 24-month transition period is provided.
