Eye twitching, or involuntary eyelid spasms, is a common phenomenon. But what causes it?
Russian doctor Aleksandr Umnov states that this condition can be linked to psychoneurological disorders, chronic sleep deprivation, or stress. He also emphasizes that eye twitching can signal more serious diseases.
Eye tics are also associated with neurological issues like Tourette syndrome or autism. Even head trauma or infections can cause eye twitching.
This condition, known as blepharospasm, can arise from dry eye syndrome or vitamin deficiencies. Magnesium and B vitamin deficiencies should not be overlooked.
