Russian researchers are developing a new drug to treat hepatitis B infection.
According to Oxu.Az citing KP.RU, the rector of Sechenov University, Pyotr Glybochko, made the announcement.
Current drugs only suppress the virus but cannot eliminate it from cells. The new approach aims to completely remove the viral genome from infected cells. Additionally, the university has started producing biomedical cell products for ear drum reconstruction and vocal cord treatment.
