Headaches are among the most common health issues today. They can be caused by stress, muscle tension, vascular reactions, or hormonal changes. Since medication is not always the only solution, interest in alternative methods is growing.
Russian body aromatherapist Irina Dobryanskaya shared essential oils for headaches with Moslenta. According to her, these oils affect the brain through the sense of smell, reducing stress, anxiety, and muscle spasms.
Peppermint essential oil is one of the most popular remedies. It creates a cooling sensation that helps distract the brain from pain signals. Lavender oil is beneficial for migraines linked to stress and insomnia, as it calms the nervous system.
Roman chamomile oil reduces irritability and neck tension, with antispasmodic properties. Rosemary oil is used for mental fatigue and low blood pressure, helping to increase brain vascular tone. Lemon oil, with its strong anti-inflammatory effect, can reduce throbbing pain in the neck.
Dobryanskaya emphasizes using only 100% natural oils without synthetic additives. Peppermint and rosemary oils should be avoided during pregnancy, especially in the first trimester, and in children under six. Overuse can cause nausea or even worsen the headache.
