The appeal process for decisions on property seizure in criminal proceedings is changing. Under the new bill, these decisions will be challenged through judicial review.
According to Oxu.Az, amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code, Penal Execution Code, and Enforcement Law were discussed at the Milli Majlis plenary session.
The proposed changes regulate the rights of persons who are not accused but whose property is seized. They will be able to file appeals, cassation, and additional cassation complaints.
The most significant change is that property seizure decisions will be challenged through judicial review instead of civil proceedings. This ensures faster and more flexible resolution.
The bill was passed in the first reading.
