Azerbaijan has been elected to the UN Human Rights Committee.
On June 15, during the 42nd meeting of States Parties to the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights in New York, Professor Fuad Zarbiyev secured 131 votes and was elected to the committee.
The committee consists of 18 independent experts and monitors the implementation of the covenant.
