The Parliament of Azerbaijan has ratified the country's accession to the Metric Convention.
Oxu.Az reports that the bill on the approval of the Convention was discussed at today's meeting of the extraordinary session of the Parliament.
Following discussions, the bill on joining the Metric Convention was put to a vote and adopted in a single reading.
Note that the Metric Convention (Metre Convention) is a historic international treaty that ensures international unity of measurement units and lays the foundation for global standardization. It was signed in Paris on May 20, 1875, by 17 countries.
