Azerbaijani Casualties in Azov Sea: MFA Statement

Azerbaijani citizens were killed and injured in a drone attack on cargo ships in the Azov Sea. The MFA issued a statement on consular support.

On June 5, a drone attack on cargo ships in the Azov Sea resulted in Azerbaijani casualties. The Azerbaijani embassy in Russia immediately dispatched staff to the area.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), consular officers are in Yeysk providing support to the injured and rescued citizens. The injured are in good condition, with some expected to be discharged soon.

Russian authorities are conducting search and rescue operations and identifying the deceased. Documentation and repatriation efforts for the rescued are underway.

The MFA is closely monitoring the situation. Further information on the identities of the deceased and the return of their bodies will be provided.
