Baku is hosting another international conference.

According to Oxu.Az, the Baku Initiative Group (BIG) is organizing an international conference on "The role of youth in urban planning during decolonization."

For the first time, the UN Youth Office is represented at the conference.

The event brings together members of the Global South Youth Platform, representing current and former colonies — including young researchers, international law specialists, healthcare experts, representatives of pro-independence political parties and organizations, youth leaders, and university students — from 22 countries.

The conference will discuss building stronger and more coordinated mechanisms to combat the ongoing effects of colonialism and neocolonialism among youth from different regions, networking the Global South Youth Platform, and transforming international solidarity into real and effective platforms.

Additionally, there will be discussions on organizing youth at a higher level, bringing systemic discrimination and human rights violations faced by minorities to the center of the international agenda, and proposing concrete, result-oriented international initiatives against these problems.
