Daily passenger railway transport between Baku and Tbilisi will resume on May 26 after a six-year hiatus.
According to Oxu.Az citing Georgian media, this was reported by the Georgian Government Administration.
The decision was announced after Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze's high-level meeting in Baku.
After the talks, a protocol of the Bilateral Coordination Council was signed. The document provides for the full commissioning of a new section of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line, but the commissioning date is not specified separately.
The protocol was signed by Georgian Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili and Azerbaijani Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev.
