On May 21, the final stage of the "Battle of Minds II" Olympiad was held at Tofig Ismayilov School No. 6. The event is a joint project of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Ministry of Science and Education.
The final stage was dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev. The competition included a knowledge contest and a chess tournament in a team format.
Speaking at the official opening ceremony, Fuad Garayev, deputy director of the Institute of Education, stated that the main goal of the Olympiad is to develop strategic thinking, decision-making, and leadership skills in the younger generation.
18 teams with a total of 108 students participated in the knowledge contest, while 18 teams with 72 students competed in the chess tournament.
At the award ceremony, Deputy Minister of Science and Education Firudin Gurbanov congratulated the winners and emphasized the role of intellectual competitions in youth development.
Alyona Aliyeva expressed her satisfaction that the Olympiad has been held for the second year.
Finally, winning teams were awarded gold, silver, and bronze medals.
