Chairman of ANAMA Vugar Suleymanov stated: "Demining is not only a humanitarian activity that saves lives, but also the foundation of recovery and reconstruction."
He spoke at the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) during a panel on "Post-Conflict Urban Reconstruction: The Critical Role of Humanitarian Demining."
Suleymanov emphasized that demining creates conditions for rebuilding homes, infrastructure, agriculture, transport networks, and economic activity.
Under the "Great Return" program, demining is fully integrated into urban planning, reconstruction, and development processes.
Since November 2020, over 270,000 hectares have been cleared, and more than 250,000 mines and unexploded ordnance have been found and neutralized.
