MP Parvana Valiyeva stated in an interview with Oxu.Az that a peace agreement cannot be signed without amending the Armenian Constitution.
She noted that Azerbaijan has been the initiator of the peace agenda since 2020, presented the first peace draft, and advanced negotiations.
In August 2025, a Joint Declaration was signed in Washington with the participation of US President Trump. Foreign ministers initialed the peace treaty.
The MP emphasized that for normalization, territorial claims in the Armenian Constitution must be removed.
She also reaffirmed Azerbaijan's commitment to the peace process and expects the same responsibility from Armenia.
