Turkish Grand National Assembly member Shamil Ayrim has expressed support for the concept of return to Western Azerbaijan.
Speaking at an international conference, he stated that this is not a geographical dispute but a matter of rights for hundreds of thousands of Azerbaijanis.
Ayrim noted that Irevan, Goycha, Zangazur, and Daralayaz are the ancestral lands of Azerbaijanis.
As a result of ethnic engineering policies carried out by Armenia in the 20th century, Azerbaijanis were expelled from their native lands.
Azerbaijan’s victory in the Patriotic War restored historical justice. President Ilham Aliyev’s Concept of Return to Western Azerbaijan is based on peace and human rights.
Shamil Ayrim emphasized that it is impossible to exile the memory of a nation. People want to return to their lands through peaceful means.
Azerbaijan remains committed to international law and supports the peace agenda. The deputy called on Armenian society to contribute to peace as well.
