Elchin Amirbayov, Representative of the President of Azerbaijan for Special Assignments, held a series of high-level meetings during his working visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia.
He met with Acting Head of State and Senate President Hun Sen, Prime Minister Hun Manet, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn, National Assembly President Khuon Sodary, and other officials to discuss bilateral relations.
Hun Sen recalled his visit to Azerbaijan in 2014 and asked to convey his greetings to President Ilham Aliyev, emphasizing Azerbaijan as a close friend. He expressed readiness to visit again.
Amirbayov handed over President Aliyev's invitation to the CICA Summit in Baku in October, which was accepted with pleasure.
Discussions covered expanding cooperation in trade, economy, energy, transport, agriculture, tourism, education, and environment. The Cambodian side praised Azerbaijan's growing role in the region and internationally.
Amirbayov briefed on Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization, demining efforts, and reconstruction in liberated territories. Cambodia supported Azerbaijan's peace agenda.
He also spoke at the National Institute of Diplomacy and gave an interview to state TVK.
