Azerbaijan has built 300,000 houses and apartments for internally displaced persons (IDPs). This was announced by Hikmat Hajiyev, assistant to the President, at the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku.
He noted that in the early 1990s, as a result of Armenia's occupation, the country faced severe housing difficulties.
The government provided IDPs with shelter, affordable food, and social services. State benefits were also applied.
Hajiyev emphasized that the main demand was to return to their homelands safely. Around 300,000 homes were built and given to them.
