The main theme of the World Urban Forum is housing. When housing is properly integrated into the urban landscape, the potential for better living conditions is maximized.

According to Oxu.Az, this was stated by Kazuko Ishigaki, Director of the UN-Habitat Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific, during an event held within WUF13.

She noted that WUF13 brings together a wide range of stakeholders, providing a unique platform to explore how integrated approaches covering landscape, housing, energy, and community participation can contribute to safer and more sustainable cities.

“In recent years, numerous unique and selected projects in various countries have demonstrated innovation and creativity by prioritizing environmental sustainability, preservation of cultural heritage, and ensuring community participation in planning and implementation processes,” she emphasized.
