Governor of Russia's Astrakhan region Igor Babushkin sent a congratulatory letter to Azerbaijan's First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva on May 28 - Independence Day.

According to Oxu.Az citing AZERTAC, the letter reads:

"Dear Mehriban Arif gizi. Please accept my sincere congratulations and deep respect on the occasion of Azerbaijan's Independence Day. This holiday symbolizes national unity, sovereignty, and sustainable development. I wish you good health, happiness, prosperity, and new successes."
