President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Chief Minister of Punjab province of Pakistan, on May 17.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif conveyed greetings from her father Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif. President Aliyev thanked and requested to return his greetings.
The President recalled the friendly relations between national leader Heydar Aliyev and Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.
The guest expressed satisfaction with participating in WUF13, praising the high level of organization and Baku's beauty. She also visited the grave of Heydar Aliyev, the founder of modern Azerbaijan.
The meeting discussed Azerbaijan-Pakistan brotherly relations, strategic ties, and cooperation in economic, diplomatic, and defense areas. It was noted that centers based on ASAN service experience would be established in Pakistan.
