President Ilham Aliyev received Tomas Taraba, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Environment of Slovakia, on May 19.
The head of state recalled his visit to Slovakia last year and the visit of Prime Minister Robert Fico to Azerbaijan, noting that high-level mutual visits demonstrate active cooperation.
The President expressed satisfaction with the friendly and partnership relations between the two countries.
Tomas Taraba thanked for the hospitality and stated that Slovakia always stands with Azerbaijan and supports its territorial integrity.
He called Azerbaijan a reliable gas supplier and highlighted the importance of the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum being held in Azerbaijan.
President Ilham Aliyev noted that Azerbaijan currently supplies gas to 12 European countries, including 10 EU members, and indicated that this number may increase in the future.
The meeting emphasized strategic partnership and exchanged views on prospects for cooperation.
