President Ilham Aliyev visited the "Hazrat Sultan" Museum-Reserve in Turkestan on May 15 as part of the TDT Summit.
Heads of state were briefed on the reserve. Founded in 1989, the museum's "Hall of Rare Exhibits" is one of Kazakhstan's most important projects.
The museum displays Turkestan's rich history, Turkic spiritual heritage, and rare artifacts from the Khoja Ahmed Yasawi mausoleum. The collection includes over 26,000 exhibits, 80% of which are artifacts.
Later, the delegation visited the Khoja Ahmed Yasawi mausoleum, one of Central Asia's largest Islamic architectural monuments.
Built in the 14th century by order of Amir Timur, the complex has over 35 rooms and is considered a spiritual center of the Islamic world.
