A formal reception for the 108th anniversary of Azerbaijan's Independence Day was held in Belgrade.

Ambassador Kamil Khasiyev noted that the ADR was the first secular democratic republic in the East.

The event featured an aria from "Koroglu" and the folk song "Sari gelin".

Students recited Samad Vurgun's poem "Azerbaijan" in Azerbaijani and Serbian.
