The Organization of Turkic States (OTS) is undergoing rapid transformation. Once a cultural platform, it is now evolving into a mechanism for technological, economic, and military-political integration.
According to Oxu.Az, ahead of the informal summit in Turkistan, experts from Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan discussed the current state and future of Turkic cooperation on the "24kz" channel.
Fariz Ismailzade, MP of the Azerbaijani Parliament, stated: "OTS has been developing dynamically in recent years. We started with economic ties, but now security, defense industry, IT, and cybersecurity are priorities."
He emphasized that member states are actively exchanging knowledge, working on innovative projects and startups, and launching new educational programs: "Although the summit is informal, it will strengthen partnership and open new horizons."
Almat Toekin, expert at the Institute of Foreign Policy Studies, noted that digitalization and AI will be at the center of the summit. He said: "Against the backdrop of geopolitical tensions, OTS countries demonstrate economic progress and stability."
Toekin added that the alliance may evolve into a full-fledged political union: "A package of legal documents is being prepared. In the future, a transition to a model similar to the EU is possible."
