Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev is expected to visit Azerbaijan this year.
Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Aghalar Atamoglanov, announced this at an event in Astana dedicated to Azerbaijan's Independence Day and Armed Forces Day.
The diplomat emphasized that bilateral relations have been actively and consistently developing over the past five years. He noted a high level of mutual understanding, trust, and support on almost all issues.
The ambassador highlighted the intensive political dialogue between the two heads of state. In the last five years, President Ilham Aliyev has visited Kazakhstan 8 times, while Tokayev has visited Azerbaijan 6 times.
"A visit of the Kazakh President to Azerbaijan is expected this year," the diplomat said.
Active contacts continue at other high levels. Between 2022-2025, the prime ministers made 8 mutual visits, and the foreign ministers made 7.
