French President Emmanuel Macron plans to invite China to the G7 summit to address global trade imbalances.
According to Politico, Macron decided to organize a video discussion between G7 countries and China. The online meeting is expected to take place on Thursday, ahead of the G7 summit next week.
The G7 includes the US, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Canada, and Japan.
Recently, the Chinese government threatened retaliatory measures against the EU if the "Made in Europe" law harms its companies. Chinese officials stated that the document creates obstacles for investments and institutional discrimination.
