A group of Members of the European Parliament have criticized the organization's actions that led to the suspension of cooperation with Azerbaijan.
According to Oxu.Az citing "Report", the decision of Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis to halt cooperation with the European Parliament and withdraw from Euronest was discussed at the plenary session in Strasbourg.
Sergey Lagodinsky, head of the EP delegation to Euronest, called on Baku to reconsider its decision, emphasizing Azerbaijan's role in the Eastern Partnership.
MEP Kristian Terhes was particularly blunt: "This parliament used the April resolution to attack Azerbaijan. It was completely unnecessary, stupid, and counterproductive."
Anjelin Füre from the Patriots for Europe group stated: "We are paying the price for your interference and approach towards Armenia."
MEP Thierry Mariani concluded: "Peace in the Caucasus will be achieved through negotiations in the region, not through the interference of the European Parliament."
