Mexican Minister of Agrarian, Territorial and Urban Development Edna Elena Vega gave an interview to Oxu.Az while participating in WUF13.
She stated that although countries have different situations, there is a common goal uniting all: to develop stronger proposals for housing provision, especially for the most vulnerable groups.
The minister emphasized the need for fundamental solutions to problems instead of short-term initiatives. Clear political will and diverse financial mechanisms are of particular importance.
Despite briefly seeing Baku, Vega was impressed by the city's planned structure and architectural beauty: "Baku is a beautiful city. Despite the rainy weather, the hospitality of the people exceeded my expectations. The attitude of the Azerbaijani people is a trait not found in every country."
The minister also highlighted the importance of climate-related issues.
