Mexico City Mayor Clara Brugada announced at WUF13 that the capital is preparing to shape a new urban agenda by 2030.
Azerbaijan handed over the baton of hosting the World Urban Forum jointly with UN-Habitat. Brugada noted that in the coming years, focus will be on implementing the agenda until 2030.
In 2028, the forum's main theme will be discussing the agenda until 2030. She emphasized that this period is a crucial stage for the UN to help reduce inequality, redistribute resources, and achieve sustainable development goals.
According to the mayor, key focus areas will be housing policy, the right to the city, and urban planning. She also highlighted the need to review the current urban agenda.
