This approach allows us to identify the carbon footprint and potential environmental risks of our future activities in advance and evaluate alternative development options based on sound scientific data."
Under the "Great Return" program, the application of Strategic Environmental Assessment in the restoration of ecosystems and revitalization of cities in Karabakh and East Zangezur has played a crucial role in considering environmental, social, and economic factors.
The minister noted that interest in Strategic Environmental Assessment is growing worldwide, including in Eastern Europe and the South Caucasus: "Azerbaijan has formed extensive experience in this area, especially in urban planning."
