President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree on the appointment of chairmen of appellate courts, chairmen of judicial chambers, and judges of first instance courts.
According to the decree, based on the proposals of the Judicial-Legal Council, several judges have been appointed to new positions.
Chairmen were appointed to appellate courts: Mubariz Akbarov as Chairman of the Baku Court of Appeal, Tofig Pashayev as Chairman of the Sumgait Court of Appeal, Nuru Guliyev as Chairman of the Sheki Court of Appeal, and Vali Abdullayev as Chairman of the Shirvan Court of Appeal.
Chairmen were also appointed to heavy crimes courts: Rashad Aliyev as Chairman of the Sumgait Heavy Crimes Court, and Rafael Aliyev as Chairman of the Sheki Heavy Crimes Court.
Subsequently, several judges were transferred or newly appointed. Fikrat Huseynov was appointed Chairman of the Administrative Chamber of the Shirvan Court of Appeal. Zaur Hajiyev, Gunel Samadova, Azer Taghiyev, Taleh Mustafayev, Gunduz Shirinov, Vahid Sadigov, Tarlan Nusratov, Shahriyar Aliyev, and Nural Aliyev were appointed as judges or chairmen to various courts.
The decree comes into force from the date of signing.
