New statistics have been released regarding Azerbaijani citizens missing as a result of Armenia's military aggression.
This is reflected in the information of the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons.
It was noted that a total of 4,003 persons have been registered as missing, captured, or taken hostage during the First Karabakh War. Of these, 3,221 were military personnel and 782 were civilians. Among the civilians, there were 71 children, 288 women, and 319 elderly persons.
Of the registered persons, 3,714 are men and 289 are women.
Additionally, the bodies of 226 identified missing-shaheeds were handed over to their families and buried.
According to the report, the number of people released from captivity and hostage during the First Karabakh War is 1,702. Of these, 424 were military personnel and 1,278 were civilians.
According to the statistics regarding the Patriotic War, 6 military personnel have been registered as missing in the State Commission.
Also, 29 people were released from captivity and hostage during the Patriotic War. Of these, 23 were military personnel and 6 were civilians.
