An important decision regarding Nakhchivan was made in the Milli Majlis. The authorized representative office of the President of Azerbaijan in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic will have the status of a first-category state body.
According to Oxu.Az, the amendments to the Law "On Civil Service" were discussed at today's plenary session of the parliament.
The bill was prepared as part of large-scale structural and management reforms in Azerbaijan to improve the governance model in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR).
The authorized representative office of the President is an executive body that performs the tasks defined by the head of state in the NAR.
The office is headed by the authorized representative in the NAR, who is appointed and dismissed by the President and reports directly to him.
According to other proposed amendments, the positions of the authorized representative of the President in Nakhchivan and his deputies are removed from the classification of administrative positions, while the position of assistant to the authorized representative in the NAR is included in the third classification list.
After this change, the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Civil Service" will not apply to the authorized representative of the President in the NAR and his deputies.
The issue was put to a vote after discussions and adopted in the first reading.
