New support mechanisms will be implemented in Azerbaijan's cotton sector, according to the President's assistant Zeynal Naghdaliyev.
Naghdaliyev stated that product subsidies in cotton growing will continue, and insurance mechanisms will be developed to mitigate risks from fluctuating international cotton prices.
The new mechanisms aim to stabilize farmers' incomes, enable more reliable production planning, and minimize financial risks.
Additionally, to develop the cotton processing industry, new spinning, fabric, and textile enterprises will be established with state support.
A target of 5 tons per hectare has been set. Modern irrigation systems, improved machinery, and laser leveling technology will be introduced.
