Two police officers who defended the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, filed a lawsuit Wednesday to halt President Donald Trump's nearly $1.8 billion fund.

Former Capitol Police officer Harry Dunn and Metropolitan Police officer Daniel Hodges allege the fund is a "slush fund" for insurrectionists.

The fund was created as part of a settlement in Trump's lawsuit over leaked tax returns.

The lawsuit seeks a court order to stop payments, calling it the most brazen act of presidential corruption this century.
