President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed on May 21.
The head of state thanked the UN leadership for supporting the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), stating that the Azerbaijani government and the UN-Habitat program worked as a team for the event's success.
President Aliyev noted that WUF13 is the second major global event in the country by number of participants after COP29, and it was successfully organized.
He emphasized Azerbaijan's efficient cooperation with UN-Habitat and affirmed future partnership.
Amina Mohammed conveyed greetings from UN Secretary-General António Guterres and congratulated Aliyev on WUF13's success.
The meeting highlighted that post-conflict restoration in Azerbaijan's liberated territories sets an example for other regions.
The ASAN service model was recalled as having won UN awards.
