President Ilham Aliyev received the Executive Director of the UN-Habitat Programme, Anacláudia Rossbach, on May 16.
Rossbach praised the organization of WUF13 and Azerbaijan's innovative approaches, expressing deep appreciation.
She noted the significance of hosting WUF13 after COP29, highlighting Azerbaijan's role in linking these major UN events.
Rossbach commended Azerbaijan's voluntary financial contributions to UN-Habitat and the tradition of National Urban Forums.
President Aliyev stated that all necessary steps had been taken for the event's success, having recently inspected preparations at Baku Olympic Stadium.
The President emphasized that Azerbaijan's WUF13 experience and post-conflict reconstruction in liberated territories serve as a model for other countries.
A Letter of Intent was signed between the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture and UN-Habitat to jointly develop operational guidelines for future WUF sessions.
