On May 9, President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva met with residents resettled in the village of Shukurbayli, Jabrayil district.
In his speech, the President noted that the village has been completely rebuilt, with a school, music school, kindergartens, a health center, and modern houses.
He emphasized that during the occupation, Armenia destroyed the village, but the historical memory of the Azerbaijani people remained intact.
The President stated that several thousand people now live in Jabrayil, and a second phase of the village is planned.
He also provided information about the "Araz Valley" Industrial Zone, solar power plants, and new transport corridors.
Residents expressed their gratitude to the President. Later, a key handover ceremony took place.
