On June 23, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov inspected the construction progress of the Shusha mosque.
Presidential aide Anar Alakbarov briefed the heads of state on the work done.
Founded in 2021, the mosque is rising as a new modern symbol of the historic city. Built in the shape of the number 8, symbolizing Victory Day, it will include main and administrative buildings, as well as ablution rooms for men and women.
Its two minarets, 73 meters high, symbolize the number 11, representing Shusha's liberation in November. The exterior will feature geometric patterns from the ancient Shusha mosque.
The construction is supported by Pasha Holding. This mosque is a key project in the restoration of liberated territories.
