Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent a congratulatory letter to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of the Independence Day.
Putin noted that Azerbaijan has achieved great success in economic and social fields and gained respect on the world stage.
The Russian leader emphasized the importance of friendship and alliance with Baku: "I am confident that our bilateral cooperation in various fields and partnership on regional and international issues will further develop through joint efforts."
Putin wished Ilham Aliyev good health and success, and peace and prosperity to the Azerbaijani people.
