Romanian President Nicolae Ciucă sent a congratulatory letter to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

"Dear President,
On the occasion of the Independence Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan, I extend my sincere congratulations and wishes for prosperity and peace to your people.
The close and strong relations between our states are based on strategic interests. Azerbaijan is a good friend and reliable partner for Romania in the South Caucasus region.
I applaud your tireless efforts to establish lasting peace, which allows the region of the South Caucasus to use its great potential.
Romania will continue to work to support the ongoing development of dialogue between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the European Union.
Taking this opportunity, I invite you to visit Romania to further deepen the strategic partnership in areas of common interest between our countries.
