The scale of urbanization problems requires more coordinated and inclusive action.
These remarks were made by Anacláudia Rossbach, Executive Director of the UN-Habitat, at a press conference before the official opening of the World Urban Forum (WUF13).
Rossbach stated that WUF13 is a crucial platform for moving from dialogue to implementation. She emphasized that the forum, as a leading global platform for sustainable urbanization, reflects Azerbaijan's role in promoting sustainable urban development.
Rossbach highlighted that WUF13 is the largest forum ever organized by UN-Habitat, with over 41,000 participants from 182 countries, including heads of state, ministers, mayors, UN officials, and leaders from business, academia, and civil society.
She added that despite growing global consensus, the gap between political ambitions and their practical implementation remains wide. WUF13 serves as an action platform to bridge this gap, bringing together a global coalition committed to transformative urban change.
